Project overview

Original AI Detective Comedy / Experimental Cinema

A post-meta-ironic gothic detective series performed in a deliberately artificial theatrical world of cardboard props and handmade-looking environments.

AI-Produced Creative Project

A detective story that knows it is one.

A detective story that knows it is a detective story. The artificiality of its props becomes part of the comedy: every cardboard door, hand-painted wall, and improvised-looking object is a willing participant in the joke.

Simulated theatrical artifice.

Minimal black stage, cardboard furniture, improvised-looking objects, deliberate theatrical limitations, and a distinctive gothic comic tone. The physical appearance is intentionally simulated with AI: not a constructed set, but a generated theatrical space.

The physical appearance is intentionally simulated with AI: not a constructed set, but a generated theatrical space.

Meta-ironic comedy, structured.

The comedy is structured through dialogue, reversals, and the interaction of characters with their fictional environment. The screenplay is written before generation: the model serves the script, not the other way around.

INT. 221B BAKER STREET: NIGHT (CARDBOARD)

The flat is rendered in deliberate artifice. A cardboard fireplace sits stage-left. Hand-painted wallpaper peels at a corner. SHERLOCK HOLMES examines a cardboard pipe with theatrical intensity. A door: clearly painted on a flat: swings open.

HOLMES

Elementary, Watson. The murderer is the room.

WATSON

The room is cardboard, Holmes.

HOLMES

Then the room has confessed. Cardboard always confesses.

The production sequence.

Script

Screenplay written first; the comedy is structured in dialogue and reversal, not in generation.

Character Design

Holmes and Watson designed as theatrical archetypes with exaggerated silhouettes.

Prop Design

Each cardboard prop designed for narrative function before visual generation.

Set Layout

Black-stage layout with minimal furniture, staged for theatrical blocking.

Storyboard

Shot-by-shot storyboard respecting the stage-like framing.

Shot Generation

AI generation conditioned on the storyboard and prop references.

Editing

Pacing tuned for comic beats: pauses where the cardboard needs to land.

Final Film

Assembly, sound design, and final color.

Props and their narrative functions.

The Cardboard Pipe

Holmes's signature prop: examined with maximum seriousness, minimum substance.

Painted Flat Door

A door painted on a flat surface that nonetheless swings open. Theatrical impossibility as comedy.

Cardboard Fireplace

A fireless hearth. Warmth implied, never delivered: a metaphor for the detective's emotional life.

Improvised Evidence Table

Assembled from mismatched cardboard offcuts. Each piece of evidence is less convincing than the last.

Scene-by-scene intention.

01Opening: The Flat

Artistic Intention

Establish the theatrical world immediately so the audience reads artifice as style, not error.

Framing

Wide static tableau, as if watching a stage.

Timing

Slow, deliberate. Let the cardboard breathe.

Comic Beat

The pipe examination. The comedy is in the seriousness.

Final Result

Audience accepts the world's rules within the first shot.

02The Confession

Artistic Intention

Invert detective logic until the environment itself becomes the culprit.

Framing

Two-shot, Holmes and Watson flanking the 'room.'

Timing

Rapid cross-cutting on the word 'confesses.'

Comic Beat

The room is the murderer: and the room is cardboard.

Final Result

Meta-ironic reversal lands because the world was honest about being fake.
